The November ballot will include an issue for Deshler residents.
At Monday’s session, Deshler council passed a resolution putting a levy on November’s ballot for police protection. The levy will be for 2.1 mills and for a period of 5-years.
In other business, council heard a first reading of a policy change to a grass ordinance. This legislation states if a property has weeds or nuisance grass over 8-inches, the housing board would put a notice on the door informing the resident they have 5-days to mow. If the warning is ignored, the village would mow the property and bill the owner. The legislation was passed on 1st reading.
And Deshler mayor and council congratulated the Sons of the Legion for their fireworks display.
