HENRY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVE ALTERATION TO INDUSTRIAL DRIVE FOR 2ND BRIDGE OVER MAUMEE RIVER
With no response from the public, and no opposition filed; the Henry County Commissioners have approved the alterations suggested for Industrial Drive to prepare for a second bridge over the Maumee River. The proposal from the Henry County Engineer’s office is to create more of a curve toward the southern end of Industrial Drive, that will form a perpendicular span to Riverview Avenue, in crossing the river. To make this alteration happen on Industrial Drive, Henry County would have to purchase a residential property at the corner of Riverview and Industrial, that is owned by Marv Drummond. The project is still in the design phase, which has funds available. But securing money to construct that bridge is still the next challenge, with an estimated price tag between 16 and 19 million dollars. If everything falls into place, Henry County Engineer Tim Schumm feels construction could get underway sometime in 2016.
The Henry county commissioners approved assessments for both the Grelton Waterline, and the extension for 2014. There are five years remaining for the Grelton Waterline, with over $17,600 still owed. And 6 years remain to payoff the Grelton waterline extension.
