HENRY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVE TAX ABATEMENTS FOR LOCAL COMPANIES EXPANDING
A couple of Henry County companies got backing from the Henry County Commissioners, in their hopes of utilizing enterprise zone tax abatements to expand their businesses. Commissioners approved a ten-year contract with Graminex of Deshler, in a project that will include construction of a 30,000 square foot building addition, with plans to increase their staff by 58 employees over the next five years. This agreement is for a 100% tax abatement for the next ten years; if the company agrees to pay a total of $9,254 annually, to be divided among the Patrick Henry schools, Four County Career Center, and Deshler Infrastructure fund.
And a ten-year agreement was also signed with Keller Packaging of Napoleon and Napoleon Logistics Park, LLC. This project would add 195,000 square feet of warehouse space at their site along road 12 east of Napoleon. The expansion would add 15 employees; and would provide funding of $27,600 each year, to be spread amongst Napoleon Area Schools, Four County Career Center, Harrison Township, and the Henry County Infrastructure Fund. This would also offer 100% tax abatement for the next ten years.
