LIBERTY CENTER SCHOOL BOARD REVIEWS BOND ISSUE VOTE AND APPROVES TEACHING CONTRACTS

 

 

With the recent passage of a bond issue for a new school building for the LibertyCenter district; the board of education is looking ahead to the next phase of the project.   That will take place on Monday, during the board’s regular May meeting, when representatives from bond companies and the architect will be available.  Garmen-Miller is architect for the new LibertyCenter kindergarten through 12th grade building, which will be constructed on the current property.       The Ohio School Facilities Commission, which is providing about 63% of the funding for the project is not expected to be part of this particular meeting.

 

At the Tuesday session, the LibertyCenter board awarded contracts to about two dozen teachers, including three-year agreements for Elizabeth Rees, and Mark Starkey.   Two year contracts were approved for Elizabeth Instone, Stephen Doseck, and Nicole Hartzell.

 

The LibertyCenter board of education also approved a contract for a new teacher in the district- Emily Wesley.  She will also serve as assistant band director.

 

In supplemental contracts, Rex Lingruen returns as varsity football coach.

 

                        And Ken Pohlman was awarded a two-year contract as bus driver.
