Defiance Local News

With a budget deficit staring them in the face; the Napoleon Area School Board of Education is looking at some very tough decisions heading toward fall.   At their special session this (Wed.) morning, the Napoleon board got the latest data on the five year financial forecast for the district.        Expenditures have surpassed revenues for several years now; and the board has had to react by cutting programs.  The Napoleon school board will likely be coming-up with a list of more cuts that would go into affect without additional money.   A decision must also be made on whether to seek another levy or income tax, with a filing deadline for the November ballot looming next month.

In other action, the Napoleon board accepted the resignation of two employees of the district.  Brad Musgrave is stepping down as athletic director, after 11 years, to make a move to the Wadsworth School District.   And Sara Snyder is resigning as intervention specialist at the middle school level, after serving Napoleon schools the past 3 years.
