NAPOLEON LOOKING TO TURN WATER CONTRACTS OVER TO REGIONAL DISTRICT
The city of Napoleon and the Henry County Regional Water and Sewer District are in dialogue about a contract that would turn-over the Malinta and Florida waterlines to the county. Those lines are currently being maintained and billed through the city of Napoleon. But at the Monday meeting of the Napoleon Council ‘water-sewer-refuse-recycling and litter committee, there was consideration for the Henry County Regional Water district to take-over all billing for customers in those villages, including the extensions to Grelton and McClure. That issue could go before the full Napoleon city council on Monday. The McClure waterline project has progressed to the point where residents could get their water from the Malinta line by the end of this month.
There was also more discussion on the topic of leasing space on the Napoleon water towers by telecommunications companies. Napoleon may lease to one entity that could handle all leasing requests.
