NAPOLEON PARKS AND REC. BOARD SETS MONEY ASIDE FOR POOL REPAIRS
The Napoleon Parks and Recreation Board nailed-down their spending plan for 2014, during their meeting this week. Despite dealing with a 25% increase in health insurance costs for employees, and union negotiations leading to a 1.5% increase for the staff; the Napoleon recreation budget is actually down by about 5.5% overall. Total expenditures are anticipated at $816,400 for next year in covering costs for maintaining parks and running recreation programs and facilities.
There were also plans for capital improvement projects in parks and recreation for next year approved. But a $25,000 alottment for playground equipment in Napoleon was nixed. That money will instead be placed in a reserve fund, in case the swimming pool needs some major repairs.
The Napoleon Parks and Recreation Board also selected this year’s winner of the annual service award; but will announce that at a later date.
