PATRICK HENRY BOARD APPROVES PAY RAISES FOR STAFF

At the regular session of the Patrick Henry School Board of Education Monday night, pay increases were approved for the teachers association, and confidential employees of the district.   Both groups will receive an additional 1.75% in each of the next three years.   This new agreement will impact 68 teachers, and 11 confidential employees.   It’s the same increase approved earlier for the bus drivers, custodial, and cafeteria staff.

The Patrick Henry board reviewed the five-year financial forecast for the district which anticipates expenditures to top revenues in fiscal year 2016, without any cutbacks.   But the district will carry a positive balance for all five years.

A new agreement for nursing services was approved with the Henry County Hospital, which will save the district $18,000 per year, and provide more nursing hours in the schools.

And three year contracts were approved for high school principal Josh Biederstedt, and for building and grounds and transportation supervisor, Mike Meyer.
