Faced with the prospect of double-digit calamity days; the Patrick Henry school board of education has passed a resolution to implement extended days of school. The resolution required memorandums of understanding with both employees groups, including teaching and non-teaching staff.
The plan is to extend the school day by 30 minutes at the end of the day, over the next 22 school days. That will allow the district to make-up two full days of instruction. This extended day format will go into effect at the Patrick Henry schools for all buildings, on Monday, March 17th.
In other action; the Patrick Henry board accepted the resignation of Sara Grant from the payroll department in the treasurer’s office. That takes effect immediately.
And the board went into executive session to discuss employment and compensation of personnel; but no action was taken.
