PROGRAM EXTENDED FOR HOME DEMOLITION IN OHIO

A program designed to reduce the number of unsightly houses around the Buckeye State will be extended into 2014.   Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine reports over 22.3 million dollars has been reimbursed to counties around the state, for their local efforts in demolishing those structures.  That has resulted in 4,700 structures being torn down.         DeWine has extended the Moving Ohio Forward deadline for tearing down dilapidated houses to May 31st of next year.  Ohio had received 75 million dollars for the demolition program, with the percentage for each county being based on foreclosure rates from the period between 2008 and 2011.
