WAUSEON MIDDLE SCHOOL EARNS STATE AWARD

The Ohio Department of Education has recognized 37 schools as being high-performing buildings around the state.   The only school to receive that honor in the four-county region for 2012 was the Wauseon Middle School.   High performing reward schools are Title-1 eligible, and must have a 90% or better proficiency rating over a five-year period.

Joe Friess is middle school principal at Wauseon, and saluted the effort of students, staff and parents.

Maumee was the next closest school to be recognized as a high performing district.
